Katie Jones (KJ) is a music curator, artist manager and talent buyer residing in Brooklyn, NY. Born in the heart of southern Virginia, KJ’s life has revolved around music from a very young age. Moving to Phoenix at the age of 12, attending a performing arts high school, followed by her acceptance to Berklee College of Music, Katie surrounded herself with talented musicians, supporting their artistry as well as growing an infinite love for the live performance experience.
After graduating Berklee in 2011, KJ moved to Los Angeles where she worked at Live Nation, styled celebrities and performed in two bands, The Nicki Bove Band - a soul/R&B band based out of Venice beach & Revelat0r - a electronic/rock band based out of Long Beach.
In the summer of 2015, Katie took a leap of determination for her own
sanity and made the move to New York City . Shortly after her move to NYC, KJ began working at National Sawdust and in the early spring of 2016, she became a full time part of the venue’s programming team. Shortly after, Jone founded The Revolution - a performance series highlighting Brooklyn & Harlem based artists/musicians that not only represent the core of independent pop culture but who currently stand in the breeding ground of evolution within their genre. This local musical movement empowers community, change, and activism through performance + unity amongst the local art scene in NYC.
Outside of her work with The Revolution series, KJ’s current role is Artistic Manager of National Sawdust, supporting local discoveries and booking bands that enhance the popular music wave as well as the millennial generation. In Katie’s spare time, she manages two innovative female artists, works as a freelance tour manager, and assists music festivals around the US as a stage/production coordinator.
